Join Prof Helen Davies at the Barnes Foundation

What:

Hey, Ware!

If you are staying at Penn for Spring Break and would like to visit one of the world's greatest collections of impressionist, post-impressionist, and early modernist paintings this event is for you!

On Wednesday, March 11th join Professor Helen Davies for a trip to the Barnes Foundation.

The Barnes Foundation was founded in 1922 by Philadelphia art collector Albert C. Barnes (1872–1951) to teach people from all walks of life how to look at art. Over three decades, he collected some of the world’s most important impressionist, post-impressionist, and modern paintings, including works by Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, and Picasso. He displayed them alongside African masks, native American jewelry, Greek antiquities, and decorative metalwork. Dr. Barnes believed passionately that art—like people—should not be segregated.

We will depart from the Lower Quad Gate at 10:30 am.

As with all Ware events, transportation and tickets will be free of cost.

When:

Wednesday March 11th, 2020 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM
