DWIP 9/27: Halley Young

The featured guest for "Dinners With Interesting People" on 9/27 will be Halley Young, now a grad student in CIS. Her CV lists her interests as "intersection of deep learning and program synthesis, steerable generative models, music". You can sample some of the results here ("easy listening") and here (...not as easy...).
She worked at Riffit in 2019-2020 on "automatic music production for therapeutic purposes", and at Google Brain Magenta in 2021 on "developing controllable generative music models."
Some of her recent papers include "A Foundations-of-Computation Approach to Formalizing Musical Analysis" and "A First-Order Theory of Film Scores for Generation from Lightweight Specifications".
