Michelle Obama is swinging by Philadelphia this November during a 10-city book tour for her highly anticipated memoir, BECOMING ... and Ware is going to go see her!!! 

According to Philly Voice: "The live event will feature an intimate conversation between the former First Lady and a to-be-announced moderator that reflects upon the many stories shared in her deeply personal book. From her early childhood living in the South Side of Chicago to her years spent in the White House, attendees will hear first-hand about the many experiences that helped shape Michelle Obama’s extraordinary journey."

Ware will provide the tickets and cover transportation. However, we do have limited spots (less than 20!). As such, to secure a ticket you must: 1) create/draw a coat of arms that you believe represents Michelle and 2) write a simple bullet-point list that explains each of the items you included in your coat of arms. In judging the submissions, we will be looking more for thoughtful content vs. artistic talent - so don't feel intimidated! You must submit your drawing here by midnight of November 16th to be considered.

Details (such as when/where we will leave from the Quad) will be sent out to ticket winners via email. 

Note: the tickets are expensive and very popular. So, if you are selected and cannot attend, please contact GA Caroline (chelene@gse.upenn.edu) as soon as possible. Failure to cancel more than 48 hours before the event could result in the cost of the ticket being charged to your Bursar Bill.
