Ballet Hispánico at the Zellerbach Theater

What:

Come with me (Mónica) to Penn’s Zellerbach Theatre at the Annenberg Center for the Arts for the Ballet Hispánico event on Friday, November 4 @ 8 PM (We will be leaving from the Upper Quad gate at 7:30 pm)

“One of the best contemporary repertory ensembles” (The New York Times), Ballet Hispanico recently celebrated five decades of lush and virtuosic dance that fuses Latin culture with contemporary technique.  Theatricality and passion propel every move as Ballet Hispánico performs the Philadelphia premieres of Club Havana (by Pedro Ruiz), an intoxicating mash-up of beloved Latin styles (conga, rhumba, mambo, cha-cha-chá); Con Brazos Abiertos (by Michelle Manzanales), a fun and honest look of life caught between Mexican and American cultures; and Línea Recta (by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa), a powerful exploration of flamenco and its lack of physical partnering.  “The versatile Ballet Hispánico dancers are exquisite” so don’t miss this “cutting-edge crowd pleaser." (The Washington Post).

Space is very limited. Please RSVP in the house calendar.
