Rose Brown

Graduate Associate
Bodine 4th Floor--Women in Leadership

My name is Rose Brown and I am a first year Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership student in the School of Social Policy and Social Work.

I am a first-generation college graduate! I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May 2017.

During my undergraduate career, I was quite involved in student organizations. I served as chapter president of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and the Society of Collegiate Leadership and Achievement. During my sophomore and junior year, I served as a research assistant, teaching assistant, and study abroad student advisor. As a senior, I interned in the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Internal Audit office and the Jamil Niner Student Pantry. I also became a member of the Miss America Organization and coordinated a pageant for women facing homelessness in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Upon graduation I became a member of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence Speakers Bureau and the Stop Abuse for Everyone Speakers Bureau. When not speaking at universities on the topics of bullying and domestic violence, I volunteer at my local domestic violence and homeless shelters. Lastly, I currently work as the Executive Support and Grants Specialist for a local nonprofit in Charlotte, North Carolina.

I am so excited for a busy year of leadership and service at the University of Pennsylvania. During the 2018-2019 academic year I will serve as the Women in Leadership Graduate Associate! I have already begun coordinating several innovative events focused on personal and professional development. When I am not in Ware College House, you might see me working at Graduate Student Center events as I am the 2018-2019 Personal Development Fellow.

Please feel free to visit me anytime! I am also always down for a study session in the Ware College House study rooms or just to grab a bite to eat on campus.

See you all soon!
