I am so thrilled to be on staff at Ware this year! I hail from the South - I was raised in Lexington, KY and attended college in Birmingham, AL. As an undergrad, I went to Samford University (class of 2013) where I majored in English Literature and minored in Latin American Studies. However, while I still have my southern roots, in recent years I have become increasingly more familiar with living in airports and out of suitcases (kidding...but not really). In college, I had several opportunities to intern in Europe and Latin America and after I graduated I moved to China to teach English at Jiangxi University of Technology for two years. Although I returned to the States this past year, I have stayed involved with the local international community and will be working at an English summer camp in Tianjin, China, which happens to be one of Philadelphia's sister cities!. My experiences abroad confirmed my love of teaching, investing in students' lives, and engaging with different cultures. As such, at Penn, I will be obtaining my M.S.Ed. in Intercultural Communication. In my free time I love being outdoors, reading, trying new foods, doodling, playing card and board games, going to the gym, consuming unhealthy amounts of coffee, and watching clips from Jimmy Fallon, Ellen, and SNL. Please feel free to stop my room to hangout or chat. I look forward to getting to know you and exploring Philly together!
