Amanda Atkinson holds a BA from Sweet Briar College in literature and theatre and a Masters in Education from Harvard University. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education at Drexel University. Amanda has worked in residential programs and community building at Simmons College in Boston, Columbia University, and Occidental College in Los Angeles. In the spring of 2008, Amanda was a Resident Director for Semester at Sea, a job which took her literally around the world on the MV Explorer. Just before coming to Penn, she served as an advisor for the Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC). A Pennsylvania native, Amanda is thrilled to work with so many new Quakers in Ware College House.
Amanda lives in Bodine with her husband, Noah Smith. Together they have four boys and a dog and a cat. If you see the family eating in one of Penn's many fine dining establishments, feel free to join them. Amanda and Noah love having conversations with people older than their sons and their sons love talking about Star Wars, superheroes, Harry Potter, and so on.
