About Ware College House - Residential Programs
Conflict Resolution
3rd Floor Morgan & Wilson
Residential Advisor: Greg Meila
This new program is for students who want "real-life" application
of resolution skills to use in the community around them. After being trained
as peer mediators, students will implement peer mediation programs within Ware
and at a local public school. Members will also participate in discussions with
faculty members from different schools and departments about how conflict arises,
peaks, stalls, and finally is resolved.
Entrepreneurs' Residential Program
5th Floor Rodney & E.F. Smith
Residential Advisor: Kyrylo Ponomarenko
This program invites students from all academic backgrounds to
explore the challenges and issues involved in starting a business, from business
planning and legal issues to raising capital and generating ideas.
Readers' Corner
2nd Floor Butcher
Graduate Associate: Sasha Bernier
A haven created in fall 2002 for bibliophiles. Residents will
organize the house-wide book discussion group, invite authors to visit and participate
in programming that spreads their love of reading in all forms.
Study of Infectious Disease
2nd Floor Coxe & E.F. Smith
Residential Advisor: Victoria Min
Under the leadership of Dr. Helen Davies, students on this floor
participate in a variety of activities, including a monthly research forum, faculty
lectures, and dinners and site visits to labs. Residents have access to a wealth
of science resources at Penn, and are invited to take Dr. Davies' course on emerging
infectious diseases.
Women in Science
2nd Floor Coxe & E.F. Smith
Residential Advisor: Victoria Min
The Women in Science floor focuses on increasing the participation
and success of women in all fields of science. Activities include mentoring young
girls who are interested in pursuing a career in science and faculty dinners with
women scientists in the greater Philadelphia area.
Women in Technology
4th Floor Morris & Bodine
Residential Advisor: Anna Lipski
This program focuses on increasing the participation and success
of women in all fields of technology. The residents will work closely with the
School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Society of Women Engineers to
sponsor lectures and programs.
